Since we are so many things in addition to being non-cisgender and/or non-heterosexual, here is a very brief and simple questionnaire that I came up with a few years ago that’s been road tested, people seem to enjoy, and I thought might be fun. I put a text spacer at the bottom of this message so that you won’t immediately see the first reply in case you don’t want to see anyone else’s answers before thinking about your own.

1) If you had to describe yourself in only one word, what would it be?
2) In one word, if you could only be one thing every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
3) What is your favorite word?

Explanations of why you chose the words you did are more than welcome, but are certainly not required.

There is no such thing as a wrong answer.

You are more than welcome to reply again and update any of your answers at any time you want to.

These are questions that are kinda tough if one really digs deep and tries to sift out all the fluff and get a really truthful answer.

Hm…

1) i think this one might be the hardest. I wish I knew Elvin or Klingon or some language that had a word that doesn’t translate well into English.

I think I’ll go with “creative” but not as an an adjective but as a noun. As in: “She considered herself a creative. Her ideas always swirling and taking slightly off kilter perspective than the norm.”

2) I’m afraid I’m going to have to cheat a little on this one and use two words because one could be a musician but to be a “performing musician“ gives a little more nuance to what is desired out of being a a musician. There is a connection to an audience that is felt when performing live. There is an energy… a give and take that is visceral and felt. And I miss it terribly.

3) This I think is the easiest of the bunch. The word is: “festooned”. Not sure why it is my favorite word but it is fun to say. 😊

#1: Passionate
#2: Accepted
#3: Science

Or maybe #2: Fashion Designer. I've always thought I could often design prettier clothing than what's been available. I hate shopping all day and not finding anything appealing to me. In regards to question number 3...... Truth? Hard to pin down

This is an almost impossible task for any person a little further on the spectrum. We tend to lecture, and cannot condense a pretty complex idea into a single word only without almost feeling physical pain. It is way easiere to not write anything.

Ah, wait a minute, look at all the words you get, and I only get one word? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm! Oh crap, I think I just used it up! Can't this be like the Genie in the lamp thing and I get three wishes from Robin Williams?

The Trick Is To Keep Breathing
Garbage
Version 2.0 1998

She's not the kind of girl
Who likes to tell the world
About the way she feels about herself
She takes a little time
In makin’ up her mind
She doesn't want to fight against the tide

Lately I'm not the only one
I say never trust anyone
Always the one who has to drag her down
Maybe you'll get what you want this time around

Can't bear to face the truth
So sick he cannot move
And when it hurts he takes it out on you

Lately I'm not the only one
I say never trust anyone
Always the one who has to drag her down
Maybe you'll get what you want this time around

The trick is to keep breathing…
The trick is to keep breathing…

She knows the human heart
And how to read the stars
Now everything's about to fall apart

I won't be the one who's going to let you down
Maybe you'll get what you want this time around
(The trick is to keep breathing…)
I won't be the one who's going to let you down
(The trick is to keep breathing…)
Baby you'll get what you want this time around
The trick is to keep breathing…
The trick is to keep breathing…
The trick is to keep breathing…
The trick is to keep breathing…
The trick is to keep breathing…
The trick is to keep breathing…

1. Me
2. Loved
3. Respect

Number 2 was the hardest, with so many possibilities, so I decided to be aspirational. I had an exclamation mark after my answer to number 1 but it looked too much like Mel. I'm unique and other answers seemed too limiting. I'm not sure if number 3 is actually my favourite word, but it's what I always come back to as vital in so many different situations. Taking all three together, they sound pretty good to me.

Really 3 words are not enough, but seeing as that is what you requested that is all you are getting, all the other 4002 words will remain a mystery for the time being!

1) Rebel.

Not the kind of rebel who drinks and swears and rides a motorcycle. :D I'm a rebel in my own quiet way. I love the color black and studded belts and stuff like that (was literally the "black sheep" of the family hahaha), I was a punk/goth/visual kei for a while, always interested in the extraordinary and dark, I never was into the things my peers liked, I guess, I'm kind of an old soul. I left the religious community in which I grew up and to which all my relatives belong at the age of 20 (which was a little scandal in my family). My first relationship was a lesbian relationship at the age of 14 (afterwards I only had relationships with men, but I wouldn't mind having a relationship with a woman again or any other gender), I'm the only one in my family who belongs to the LGBTQIA+ community (and my family doesn't like that because of their old-fashioned, discriminatory religion), I live alone and love it while nobody seems to understand how someone can be happy to live in a foreign town without any friends or family. Just to mention a few things. I think, my explanation is enough to make clear why I picked this word.

2) Highly intelligent.

I'd love to be a MENSA member. I know that sounds weird and maybe a bit arrogant. It's not that I wanted to be outstanding myself, but I have a fascination for highly intelligent people, and I think I could learn a lot from them.

3) Hmmm.. that's a tough one. I really like the word "melancholy", I think.

Although I might change that to snoot after seeing Sam's reply. That's a pretty cool word too.
