Been trying to find some funny shows to go to sleep at night after watching things like, the news. I am a big fan of British comedy. Lately I have been watching a British comedy game show called "8 out of 19 Cats Does Countdown." It doesn't hurt that I have a bit of a crush on Jon Richardson who is a team captain. Check it out, pretty funny. Anyone else have something that tickles their fancy? And if someone lists Seinfeld, I might just have to punch myself in the face...again! Say it ain't so!

Monty Python's Flying Circus of course.

Upright Citizens Brigade is hit and miss but when they hit, it's hysterical.  The space program edible underwear project episode is ridiculously funny.

Blackadder is also a great one.  Absolutely Fabulous is great.  Red Dwarf is sci-fi comedy that is worth trying out.

I am currently hooked on the Big Bang Theory.  My family tells me all the time that I am the female version of Sheldon! (my little bit of Autism seems to make me like this)

I've seen every single second of every single episode of The Big Bang and I loved em' all. I thought that was one of the 10 best sitcoms that's ever been on TV.

Moni since you like British comedy have you ever seen the show called Coupling? In my opinion it's one of the funniest sitcoms that's ever been aired anywhere. Of course I really like British humor so that might play into things. But it's REALLY funny.

The only bad thing about it was that it was only on for 4 or 5 seasons. If I remember correctly the creator of the show got into an argument or something with the BBC. That was a long time ago so I could be wrong about that though. But check it out if you can find it because I guarantee you'll end up laughing really hard.

Also check out the remake of One Day at a Time on Netflix. My daughter and I started watching it and it was so good we ended up binge watching all three season in less than a week. Really good show!!

Pythonesque British comedy worth checking out would be The Two Ronnie's.

Its older so dont know if its available anywhere.

Couple from Netflix that I'd been watching during electrolysis (she mounted a tv on the ceiling)  are Grace and Frankie and Schitts Creek

I've been watching Schitt's Creek from its very first episode. I think it's just hilarious!! I'm sad though that they're on their last season. In fact I think the series finale is tonight.

It is kinda dirty from time to time. One of the characters named Patrick had his 'member' used as a model for a sex toy. He was quite popular with the females after that. It was hilarious!!!  ;D ;D

I started at the beginning and have seen them all up to the new season which isn't on Netflix yet.

I've been watching re-runs of Red Dwarf.  There'll be a feature length episode, never broadcast before, on the Dave channel, in the UK, tonight.  I'm also watching re-runs of Last of the Summer Wine, although I will probably stop when it reaches the episodes created after Bill Owen died.  As it is the longest running sitcom in the world, that won't be for a while.

Graham Linehan's shows Black Books (as a collaborator), Father Ted and The IT Crowd can be watched repeatedly. Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, 'Allo 'Allo! and My Family are also worth re-watching when I get the chance, as are shows written by Galton and Simpson and featuring Tony Hancock or Steptoe and Son.

I agree with Lexxi that Coupling is also a fine sitcom.

My favourite US sitcom was the superb Married... with Children but it has never been rebroadcast in Britain in this century.

Most US sitcoms can not even come close to many of the British ones, and are often only americanized versions of them.  Some good US ones are The Office, and The Big Bang Theory.
I don't know what it is about the BBC, and how the do it.  I never will forget the "A Year in Provence", from about 20 to 25 years ago.  This was absolutely the crown of them!

The Paul Hogan show was pretty good too. ( I know he's not British) :)

Oh My God. The universe is playing tricks on me today. So I log off here and go back to watch TV as I fall asleep and guess what is on TV as I turn it on. Seinfeld. I swear. I don't even know how it came on I was watching something else. That is hilarious.

And this afternoon I had on my list of to do items to call an attorney about social security disability. And I went to my mailbox and for the first time in 3 years I had a statement on my possible benefits based on my lifetime earnings waiting for me in my mailbox.

Spooky. :ROFLMAO:

Hey Sista I never saw this thread before you should have told me to check it out.
You might have been on that mountain in Tibet at that time. Still waiting for you to turn into Batwoman and ask where Alfred is.
