Hi, everyone! I just joined over the holiday, too!
I'm Loki (also go by Luci online in trans-friendly areas) and I am excited to be able to meet other transpeople, learn and share as we all go along on our journeys. I'm no stranger to my inner woman, but I just have started to come out to select people, so I'm fairly early on the "trans-blossoming". Thank you for having me here! 💜

Hello Luci, welcome in our little refuge. We have all kinds of trans people here, new comers and old hags like I (actually, I am the only old hag here, all others are beautiful women). Look around and ask questions and participate in subjects. And most of all, feel at home here, we are a safe heaven for everybody who falls under the trans/intersex spectrum.

Hugs
Linde

Thank you, Linde! Will do!
"Hag" used to be a word for a wise one, you know (greek - Hagia "sacred, blessed"). No shame. ;)

Thanks Allie!

What to share? I am a middle-aged New Yorker starting over both professionally and personally. I was married (for about 20 years) and had a very successful career and lost both as well as a lot of my self-confidence and self-esteem a few years back in a midlife struggle with depression and anxiety. I suffered from some gender dysphoria nearly all my life, though I didn’t always understand it fully; but I have recently achieved acceptance and peace.

The path form here? I don't know and that's OK. I am exploring both social and physical transitioning steps, but don't feel any pressure or urgency about deciding. Or any need to make any decision to please anyone but myself.

And looking forward to hearing about all of you and your own journeys!

Hello Cora, we all are at different stages of transition. Some of us, me included are at yhe end of our path, and live full time in our target gender for several years now. Others are, like you, just at the behinning of their path, snd many arecat different steps of it.
We all try to help each other to make our lives and decissions a little easier.

Just look around, ask quedtions, or participste in discussions.

Great to hear from you Cora! Yes, the cost of being trans and transitioning is usually high, and I am still paying! You will find lots of life stories in the blogs section, including mine, and quite a few you will resonate with! I hope you start your own blog so we can learn more about you, and it is theraputic to have somewhere to put down your thoughts!

Hugs,

Allie

Hi Cora,

Welcome to the Refuge! I had a pretty successsful career and am married. Still, I struggled with dysphoria long before I had a name for it and never understand it until recently. Look around the forum and I think you will find fiends here from non-transitioning to various stages of transition. Feel free to join in on the conversations so we can get to know each other better.

Hugs,
Mike

You sound alot like myself. I always put my femme side in the background. It started fully wanting to express itself through me in my late 30s. I turned to alcoholism as a way to cope. Now in my late 40s I'm more bold, brave and struggling to keep sober. I'm still not sure if I'm truly trans or a casual crossdresser yet though. With no partner or kids I feel very fortunate because I don't need to explain myself to anyone in my personal life. I hope all goes well with you on your journey of self discovery.
