Research the textured aspect and the tear drop thing. I've heard there is more risk with some types of textured implants. The tear drops have been known to rotate and shift.
The expensive surgeon gave me a 3 page handout on breast implant associated-anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) which is a very rare complication that has been documented for around a decade that can occur between 3 and 14 years after implant insertion. It can usually be effectively treated by removing the implants and capsules and then a year later smooth (round) implants can be inserted. I've read elsewhere that it occur in about 1 in 2-3000 cases with coarsely textured implants (which have been banned in Australia) and around 1 in 30,000 finely textured implants and is almost unknown with smooth implants. It is thought that the texture can hold bacteria that triggers the condition. However all shaped implants are still finely textured whereas round implants seem to always be smooth. He said that of the many hundred shaped implants he has done he has had two rotate. I need to ask him about the treatment for this. He also said that there are implants wider than they are tall and he sometimes uses these, but at other times, the taller "tear-drop" type; it all depends on the person's shape and size.
Cheers,
-Kenna

Boobs day 4. Had a shower yesterday, which meant temporary relief from bra-zilla and a chance to see them proper. At this point they definitely look better under clothes.
A little bruising by the left incision. No new bleeding from there. Follow up tomorrow, I'll see about incision/scar care and how long I need to wear the mega-bra.

And no I didn't get my hair dyed mermaid. The Reface app has a new section for trying different hairstyles and that one looked fun.

Tonya (and others),
As someone who lives alone and is anticipating this surgery I'm interest in how your ability to do things is progressing. The most common issue I've heard about is raising your arms. This has various implications ranging from the type of top you can put on through to getting things out of cupboards and brushing your hair. Are there any other big issues?
Thanks,
-Kenna

@ Kenna, hair brushing is overrated, you could get a shake your head and your hair is done do, like I have!

Hey Kenna, good questions.

I can move my arms pretty much full range. I'm not supposed to lift any weight over my head and limit any other lifting to about 5 pounds. I'm also not supposed to drive yet, but not sure why that is. Possibly to not have my arms raised continually.
Brushing hair and doing makeup has not been a problem.
As far as clothes, loose fitting is all that's necessary at first. I wore big t-shirts and zip up hoodies the first few days.

Maybe @Monica can chime in with her experience with the under the muscle procedure.

My hair doesn't work that way Linde! It's very fine and will get knotted even while I watch TV, and definitely won't shake into place. I look a fright if I don't brush or comb my hair multiple times a day.

Thanks @TonyaJanelle ! It sounds as though things are really great!
Cheers,

Tanya, i’m so glad you’re doing well after the surgery. Sure once you get past this awkward phase of recovery, it will be quite an amazing experience. Love the hairdo from that app by the way... pretty cool.

I saw a transgender person online with a hairdo similar to that except they had the transgender flag colors in it. (Honestly you look better in the app and they did)

Hugs
Nicole

It's a pretty fun app, you can put your face in the movies etc. Some of them work. reface-2021-01-06-07-39-35.gif

Thanks @Kenna @Maddie @NicoleT and anyone else that sent well wishes.

My boobs are now 1 week old. I no longer need the Mega-bra but still need extra support 24/7. For at least 2 more weeks. I'm having trouble finding a supportive enough sports bra that I can wear comfortably all day so am still wearing bra-zilla most of the time. Have a couple sports bras on order, so maybe next week.

Returned to work yesterday with no problems. A little tired in the evening.
Noticed at work that Wednesday was my 7 years anniversary at my current job. Did some math and I have been Tonya at work longer than I was not.

I love that you’ve been there longer now as Tonya that is dead name, that’s awesome. I’ve only been Nicole at work since February 1 even though I was basically living that way for almost a year now. Still it’s become so normal I rarely get dead named anymore. Pretty cool.

I want implants.

Been trying to pin my shoulders back and stand straight. Don't want to fall back. The front weights should stabilize me and reduce uncomfortable direct eye contact from people at the same time ;)

Been applying at apts near you Tonya.

Assume you're bringing the fur babies. Having luck? The kids are having the same problem. They're planning on moving up this summer. Our place doesn't allow pets so they have to look elsewhere.

2 week boob report.

Some swelling and minor pain on the left side. Iced it last night, a little better today. Not worried, but definitely paying attention and keeping am eye on it. Also still somewhat numb on the left, not much feeling in that nipple yet. That is somerhing that possibly could be permanent. Right side is fine and seems to be starting its descent. One to three months seems to be the norm for them to drop, with up to a year of minor changes.

(Posting a link about "drop and fluff" in the surgery section.)

Steri-strips came off the scars finally. Well, I pulled them off when they started to come off since they were on more than a week. Supposed to wait until 4 weeks to do any scar treatment other than put Vaseline on them.

I have quite a bit success to reduce scars with silicone scar away strips. I was at the gynecologist today, and she said if it would not be for the very slightly visible scars, she would not have known that my vulva was not natal. I hope that any scars are gone for good in two or three month. You might want to take a look into these scar treatment, too.

Looking elsewhere.
Not planning to abandon them, or hide them from new landlords.
So far no availability close to my price range.

I'm definitely getting BA. And every other acronym I can put together. I never want to be misgendered, or even merely accommodated, again.

Are your nipples and areolas surgically bigger now, or just stretched by the swelling as you described?

How's it going...
Nice weather out there...
