A bell chimed softly as the door swung slowly inward.

With a tentative step, a girl with deep red hair entered, furtively looking left and right at the faces in the room. Recognizing some familiar friends, she straightened up and walked into the great hall with a dazzling smile on her face. Her purple boots were soundless as she moved between the clusters of people in the room, exchanging hugs with them. Wearing a black leather jacket on top of leopard-print leggings, she looked like she was ready for a night out at a goth club. A bracelet with the words "Spooky Bitch" on it caught the light as she waved to friends around the room. Her friendly demeanor countered any stereotype which may have come to mind.

She seemed especially happy to see one of the ladies in the room in particular - a slim blonde woman with just the slightest hint of blue at the tips of her hair and a teal scarf featuring feathered wings like those of a bird adorned her neck. They hugged each other and shared a kiss, more deeply than one between "just friends". Only then did it become obvious that they were wearing almost matching winged scarves. One light and one dark.

They held hands as the moved through the crowd in search of some refreshment.

Cassie had arrived.

Well, Hi there Cassie,

Glad to see you made it. I need some help getting that short blue blonde haired girl up on the fridge. She being obstinate, though she knows she belongs there for awhile.

Hugs,
  Laurie

Nice to see some warm and familiar faces in such a crowded unfamiliar room.

Hugs Cassie!

Thank you all for the warm welcomes!

Stephanie told me that some folks were building something new here and I wanted to stop in and say "Hello". Based on what I've heard, I'm not optimistic about the longevity of that other site. It's been my experience with forums and before that, mailing lists and before that, the old BBS days, that when egos start to clash, everybody loses.

Laurie, I have some concerns regarding placing people in repose atop major appliances - beyond the obvious safety issues.

Ummm, @Katie and/or @Dena, it looks like your search and replace content filter has run amok, changing the three-letter word for donkey (*ss) TO donkey, no matter where it shows up, even embedded in another word. I assure you that my Bestie doesn’t go by “SdonkeyyCdonkeyie”.

Oh, my, I'll fix that. I was testing some word censoring.

[member=26]Stephanie[/member] , it should be fixed now. My apologies. I disabled all of it, but the problem was I didn't have it checking whole words, so it was picking up on any combination of letters that matched key words.

[member=26]Stephanie[/member] , I'm glad we can all laugh about it. I wasn't even planning on using the censoring feature. I'm going through SMF's settings and options today trying to understand what each of them do and how they work. With traffic low today, I thought I was safe to play around with some settings. I chose a few words that I didn't think anyone would be using in the few minutes I was testing things. Turns out I was wrong.

@Lexxi , I took care of it. Now the problem is I'm calling people by the wrong names! I think I need some rest!

Oh, no worries! I used to run a Florida Goth mailing list that eventually turned into a forum using vBulletin and we used a similar auto-replace feature. It only took a moment to see what was going on and another moment to start laughing at it!

Aww! I was looking forward to a discussion on "PDonkeying". Now what am I going to giggle about?
