@TonyaJanelle .... pointed out after sharing this song from a personal view on my thread that I should also copy this over to this thread, because it belongs here. so here goes...

The night I finally admitted to myself that I was transgender I was listening to the radio and this song came on. Now I worked at a classic rock station on the radio for a number of years, so I had heard the song a million times, But it was the first time I really heard the lyrics and they spoke to me. The song is Supertramp “ The Logical Song”

As I was a struggling man trying to figure out who I was and why life had gotten so complicated, I worried about what people might think about me just from that revelation itself. Her are the lyrics....

When I was young it seem that life was so wonderful , a miracle , oh it was beautiful magical
and all the birds in the trees, they d be singing so happily ...oh joyfully , playfully watching me
but then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible, logical, responsible, practical and they show me a world where I could be so dependable oh clinical, oh intellectual , cynical

( I didn’t know it was wrong to feel the way that I felt as a kid, things were so simple and innocent then, soon people told me that I need to be more responsible ...act like a man)

There are times when all the worlds asleep, the questions run too deep, for such a simple man
won’t you please, please tell me what we’ve learned, I know it sounds absurd,
please tell me who I am

( this part really hit me, i’d be up all night trying to figure out what was wrong with me, ...is this real?, then it was the warning of telling someone in the next part)

I said watch what you say Or they will be calling you a radical, liberal or fanatical, criminal
won’t you sign up your name, we’d like you to feel your acceptable, respectable,
oh presentable, a vegetable .....oh take it, take it ...yeah

(if you speak up & tell people how you really feel, you’re always seen as a radical fanatical, crazy person, mental issues, an outcast, some people would call you all sorts of names from sissy on down, instead of actually listening to what the problem was, if you try to explain it they would basically say “stay in line, be acceptable” “, present yourself in a manner that people will accept you“ ...they tell you “ you don’t wanna live your life like that” )

But at night when all the worlds asleep ...the questions run so deep ....for such a simple man
won’t you please, please tell me what you’ve learned , I know it sounds absurd please tell me who I am
who I am
who I am
who I am

( this build up of to the crescendo, over and over asking WHO I AM, I completely broke down crying, I knew the truth, amazing how a song can affect you)

Anyway I just thought I’d share this, see if anyone else can feel the lyrics of this song.

Hugs
Nicole

Thanks for adding this here. Thinking about it, I'm wondering if maybe I never noticed this one is because I can't stand Roger Hodgson's voice on a some of their songs (Dreamer).

Anyway, here's another Supertramp song for the uncracked eggs.

I like Supertramp, but yes I agree “Dreamer” is there worst song. Not “ A give a little bit” and “ Bloody well right “ not a fan either.
“ Goodbye Stranger” “ Breakfast in America” “ Long way Home” “ It’s Raining Again” pretty good songs. I always liked there writing mostly.

"I See the Light" from Tangled, a most underrated Disney movie.

All those days watching from the windows
All those years outside looking in
All that time never even knowing
Just how blind I've been
Now I'm here blinking in the starlight
Now I'm here suddenly I see
Standing here it's all so clear
I'm where I'm meant to be
And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything looks different
Now that I see you
All those days chasing down a daydream
All those years living in a blur
All that time never truly seeing
Things, the way they were
Now she's here shining in the starlight
Now she's here suddenly I know
If she's here it's crystal clear
I'm where I'm meant to go
And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything is different
Now that I see you
Now that I see you

I always thought these lyrics said a lot. They always resonated with me.

"Now the face that I see in the mirror
More and more is a stranger to me
More and more I can see there's a danger
In becoming what I never thought I'd be"

I always wished I could be the person I should have been at birth. I never felt like the person I saw in the mirror. In fact I HATED looking in a mirror...thus the stranger to me line. I wanted to be my female self but I thought it would be dangerous to be her...which describes the "danger in becoming what I never thought I'd be."

Always knowing that I was different, but not what that difference was, was a battle for me for most of my life. Then nearly 3 years ago I finally realised that I was fundamentally a woman. Plenty of hormones and surgeries later I was still seeing the man in the mirror until quite suddenly a couple of months ago. I think that the trigger was watching the video interview I did - I wasn't mirrored as I normally see myself and suddenly I saw the woman I was! Then I realised that I was seeing the woman in the mirror as well. :D I haven't found a song reflecting that discovery yet. Any suggestions?
Cheers,
-Kenna
