Last week my son's homeschool group had an outing to the local skating rink. I wanted to get out of the house, so I decided to grab my skates and go with him.

When I was a kid, we practically lived at the roller skating rink on the weekends, except during ice skating season when we would go ice skating instead.

Riedell, the maker of my skates, is a customer of mine and I picked up a super nice pair of skates from them during a visit to their facility last year in Redwing, MN. They also happen to be directly across the street from the Redwing Shoe Comapny (very well known for their high quality boots). They are also clients of mine, and I always love visiting the town of Redwing. It has a very scenic position right on the banks of the Mississippi and has a really cool old rail depot that has been renovated and currently serves an Amtrak line.

Redwing is of course home turf for me.  yes, it is a cute town, and when the old pottery was still going, one could dig out some really nice stuff from the pile osf seconds they used to throw away for grabs!
