Below is the copy of a post from a private facebook group which I have removed the private details from and have permisson to share

*Adelaide/Australian(who can travel)  post op girls.

I have been in consultation with a leading gynaecological surgeon (Dr Behnia-Willison), discussing the possibility of using cutting edge stem cell treatments to assist recovery and function in post op vaginoplasty patients.
The idea is to aid recovery, and improve health and function of the neo vagina, using co2 laser and prp stem cell treatments. This promotes improved circulation and growth of new blood vessels, cologen production and mesenchymal stem cell division and differentiation. This will reduce scar tissue, improve sensation, increase skin elasticity, enhance integration, and overall improve vaginal health.
* Now for the really exciting part...
We have secured funding for a medical trial to be conducted, looking into the benefits of this exciting new treatment in post op vaginoplasty patients.
This will be conducted in Adelaide, and will require 3x 30 min sessions over a 3 month period. It is relatively pain free with no down time. You will be required to give blood for the prp treatment. An initial specialist consultation is required to be eligible, and this will be the only direct cost involved in this study.

**Please express your interest in wanting to be a part of this fantastic opportunity by contacting FBWGynPlus on (08) 82972822.

She will welcome anyone from interstate as long as they can attend the three appointments the normal cost for this treatment would be about $6000

I have had one treatment of this and apart from making me very tender I have yet to see any improvement however I have another 2 to go. This is a proven treatment for women's vaginal health and the Dr is has already used it on other trans women with great results. She wants to ensure we have proper access to this. As an aside she also said my results were excellent and could see no need for any revisions purely from a cosmetic standpoint.

Thank you Liz, I would be very interested, and would be willing to make monthly trips to the city of churches, but I have no idea when my surgery will be....

Hugs,

@LizK, as Covid - 19 seems to be easing, surgeries are now being scheduled I do have a date for my procedure with Andrew Ives, 27th January, but I've settled on shallow depth Labiaplasty, and so wouldn't be a candidate for this procedure.

I am still interested in your progress, but guess it might have been put on hold.

Hugs,

Allie

Thanks for sharing this @LizK . It’s encouraging to know that research and development for new treatments are still being pursued even when the world is in the middle of a pandemic. Progress might have slowed, but it hasn’t stopped.

PRP injections have nothing to do with stem cells, AFAIK. I got four PRP treatments for hair loss. The therapeutic basis for PRP treatment if that the concentrated plasma contains growth factors and other biomolecules associated with cellular repair and regeneration.

Still, I have never heard of this technique being used for transgender medicine so this is very interesting!
