Dear Lord Kathy! That is my worst fear. There is no time to waist in these situations. March 10th is a month away. A lot can happen between now and then if your diagnosis is correct. I'd keep pushing for an earlier appointment if you can get it. Fingers crossed!!!

Wow! Let’s hope it leads to a complete solution to your problem! You are likely to have to make a return trip later for a revision, but the ball is finally rolling! I’m happy for you Kathy!

Hugs,

Allie

Holy crap! Talk about being a squeaky wheel! I got a call this morning from Dr. Brassard's office. I have an appointment on March 10 for a consultation. No doubt he thinks the situation is fairly urgent or I wouldn't have gotten in so quickly.

I was careful to describe my symptoms accurately to my doctor. What I suspect I have is clitoral priapism. But you can't tell a doctor what you think your diagnosis is: they just tune you out. Instead, I described in detail what I had observed that made me think that, plus she palpated the tissues and found confirming symptoms. I assume she passed that info on to Dr. B.. Clitoral priapism can cause necrosis, which is the most common serious complication of vaginoplasty.

It is all speculation on my part, but I was seriously not expecting to hear anything for weeks. I have been scrambling all afternoon to make airline reservations, book a hotel room and taxis to and from the airport. I am guessing that, since this is a doctor-requested consultation, it will be covered by insurance, but I'll deal with that later, and I'll eat the cost if I have to. The priority is to get it all nailed down. All that is left to do is schedule a covid test a few days before I go.

Because of the airline schedule, I'll have to stay two nights in a hotel. Montreal is the hot spot for covid in Canada, so I plan to bring my iPad and some books and stay in my room except for the appointment itself.
Great Kathy, I hope he can solve the problem in an easy manner, not requiring much cutting.
What you are missing is a Van-Gina, to be Independent from all the Covid carriers, and stay away from them as far as possible!

Hugs
Linde

If there is anything happening, it isn't happening quickly. This has been going on for 11 months. Another month isn't going to make a difference. I'd be worried if they didn't want to look at it for another year, but I can live with a month.

Besides, after a hectic afternoon, I have all my airplane, hotel and taxi reservations made. I don't even know if I'll get reimbursed by insurance, so I don't want to incur cancellation fees.

I am just happy I am going.

I just found my old Flight Commander from my air force days on Facebook. I came out to him by PM, and here is part of his response: "Glad to see that your life eventually turned out OK for you. Life is too short to be someone you do not wish to be."

I am impressed by the attitude shown by all my old colleagues from those days. I have seen this same level of acceptance from every single one of them! It makes reminiscing about the good old daze so much fun when there is no elephant in the room.
