Katie! I was thinking it would be nice if we still had the "GO DOWN" and "GO UP" buttons to help navigate the longer pages. Sorry for the repetition of posting the same question in your blog.

There is a go up button, but I agree that a go down button would be helpful. I put it on my list of things to find yesterday. Having a go up button but not a go down button doesn't make a lot of sense and I will find a way to fix it.

But you were right, there is no go down button and I think there should be.

While the "Welcome to Transrefuge!" banner is great on the Home page, is it necessary on all pages? I'm rapidly tiring of scrolling past it on every page I visit here. On my laptop it takes about 2/3 of the screen and on my desktop about 1/3. Is a smaller version possible on other pages, or none at all? There's the fixed heading on all pages that identifies the site.

I can alter the size of the banner, but I can't make it do different things on different pages. Whatever it is set to is how it will display on every page.

That's a bit sad. The big banner on the home page is really good. And it's a good piece of design, but I think that it's far too big for every page. Perhaps suggest the variable banners for their next software upgrade. In the meantime I'd appreciate a smaller one.
Again, thanks for all your excellent work for out community!
Hugs,

@Kenna there may be an alternative that you might find more attractive. If you click on your avatar in the upper right corner, there is a section called Preferences. Click on it. Then in Style, choose Default Style *, then hit Save. Your layout will then appear like this:

The banner and all of the images are gone, with only a small header.

Thanks Katie, but that option doesn't appear to be available for me. Maybe its an administrator thing. Also I can't get to my Preferences through my Avatar, I eventually found Preferences at the bottom of my drop down Alerts, but the default style was Swift, which I gather is what is set as the site standard, and a variety of color schemes within that. Each color scheme has a different banner, but they're all the same size. My favorite is Scheme4.
Cheers,

I just forced it use Default as your style. Tell me what you think of it.

Hi Katie, it has merely changed me back to the default Swift style, just like everyone else, with the big banner. Nothing like your screen grab. This hosting platform is certainly stubborn! ;) I've re-tweaked my color scheme to Swift scheme 4.
