Character limit on profile posts

I was wondering if it would be possible to increase the character limit on the profile posts. Right now I believe it’s set at 450 but would love if it could be increased significantly... say to 5 or 10k characters. I mean 1,000 characters is only about 150 words.

Also, can the addition of a profile post title/headline be made.

I love those profile posts because they operate and feel more like a real blog.

I'll take a look Wren. I don't use the profile post very much, and was not aware it had this limitation. Let me get back to you, or maybe @Katie knows if there is a reason/solution for this.

I've never really understood the purpose of profile posts and have almost never used them. If I have a thought, I put it on my blog.

The thing about the blogs on this site and other forums I’ve seen that have them is that it doesn’t operate like a real blog.

The “blogs” here are nothing more than a thread that is essentially curated by the person who started it. That isn’t really a blog. It’s just a regular thread. They are also visible to anyone who come across our site whether they are a member or not.

The profile posts are only visible to members who are logged in. If the administrators can add the ability of headlines to each post, those profile posts would operate and function as close to a real blog as we could have here.

@a Birdie on a Wire! Wren I increased the profile post character limit from 420 to 5000. Still working on adding a title/headline. Let me know if what works.

We can see if a header or something can be added to profile posts. I suspect it would require modification to the template files.
