I think as an intersex person with a pretty normal lifestyle, and very much integrated into cis society I have not to fear much of those people.
But I know a few trans persons who are proud that they are republicans and voted for Trump twice. They feel they are very safe being log cabin repucs!

So tragic and sadly I fear it's going to get worse. I watched an interesting PBS interview with a former Republican strategist that explains why the base of the MAGA group will not listen to reason. See below.

I have stated multiple places that I put the odds of a civil war at 10% Ten years ago I would have said less than 1%. I worry about the future.

Reasonable Republicans such as the late John McCain are becoming as extinct as dinosaurs. As much as I dislike Mitch McConnell he doesn't look so bad compared to some of the extremists. I can't believe I just typed that.

Kim, Luntz was someone who has created so much damage. I can't stand him. He is a master manipulator, making very bad things sound harmless. He is an excellent source of information on that side of things, but he is a horrible person.

This is who they want to force to live a lie until they are 21 and have gone through the puberty induced horror that will seriously harm her body. Not even given the chance to grow to make sure she is truly trans! They are the child abusers.

This is heartbreaking, because I know how it feels to live in a gender one is not. I was forcefully made into a male, I never developed male but I had to live as one. It was a rather miserable life, I would not wish onto anybody.
I could have grown up as a little girl, if that idiot of a doctor would not have thought I would be a nice boy!

I hope this little girl, and all the other little kids like her, have the chance to grow up and live the gender they feel they are.

This is a sad situation. A true test of humanity. The entitlement, of any level of government, to decide the very course of another person's identity is nothing short of societal slavery. The idea that anyone feels like they have to go somewhere else to be accepted, or safe to live and breathe life while just being themselves, is very scary. The concerted efforts of these attacks against equality should be considered federal hate crimes in my opinion. That is why a federal level of protection is so critical for racial minorities and LGBTQIA+ people. It's just human decency, and it's long overdue.
