I've been a commercial photographer for 30+ years, and trying to stay afloat in all
this covid mess. Sadly most clients are not thinking about spending money for photography
these days.
Anyway to kick this forum off if anyone has any photo related questions I'll try to help you.
Hugs....

I don't have any questions right at the moment, but will keep an eye on this thread since I work in the 3D imaging industry and find the topic interesting.

My ex and I have run a small underwater photography business for 30+ years. She shoots stills and I shoot video, but with the influx of inexpensive compact digital cameras, and people willing to give their work away, our sales have dried up. We didn’t do it to make money, but to fund the equipment and trips.

Are you finding it harder to gt work?

hugs,

Allie

I work full time for a company in the commercial real estate business. I tried doing work on my own, but people generally don't want to pay for professional photos, since they have their phone.

Hi Allie, right now yes it's hard finding work. I have basically 1 client who's business is booming during this covid mess. I'm very grateful for the work he has been giving me but it is nowhere near what I need to be making to cover my expenses each month. I'm hoping my other clients will be able to survive and will eventually need my services again. I don't want to think about the alternative.

Hi Valerie, I know for some small businesses that only need a shot here or there they will try to get by using their phones. Most of my clients have many multiple items for sale and just don't have the time to devote to doing all the photography and computer work after. I had 1 client who bought some equipment to try and do their own photos but after a year they started working with me again because they realized it's not as easy as they thought it would be.

Hugs..
